Sr. Manager, CS Data Architecture

This position will manage a team of resources responsible for the data architecture and data governance policies and standards across Customer Service applications and reporting systems, including:
• Document the data architecture and environment in order to maintain a current and accurate view of the larger data picture, including mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics.
• Develop data governance framework, clearly identifying roles and responsibilities of technology and business teams. Includes processes for governing the identification, collection, and use of CS metadata; take steps to assure metadata accuracy and validity.
• Serve as central ‘source of truth’ regarding data meanings at data element and entity levels. This covers physical, logical data models, as well as in the reporting object and business glossary level. Continually monitor for creation of new data objects across CS systems.
• Select tools to support CS’s data management goals, leveraging available metadata technology at eBay.
• Work closely with the Siebel project team, application architects, enterprise data architects and data warehouse team to ensure consistency in data definitions and data usage across systems and tools used by the global CS organization.
• Serve as gatekeeper for creation of new data objects, or extensions or modifications of existing ones. Work with business and subject matter experts to define and control lists of values and hierarchies for key entities, such as contact drivers, status codes, etc.
• Drive alignment across cross-functional teams on data governance and taxonomy – globally and across CS applications.
• Align CS data architecture with existing enterprise data architecture and design solutions laying foundation for an Enterprise CRM.

Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is highly desired. Masters is preferred.
• 10+ years work experience as a data or information architect, preferably with Call Center and CRM systems.
• 5+ management experience, including proven experience building and managing high-performing teams.
• Experience working with a global development team, as well as managing fulltime and contracting resources.
• Knowledge of the following Siebel modules (Analytics, Case Management, Call Center) and underlying data models.
• Deep knowledge of best practices through relevant experience across data-related disciplines and technologies, particularly for enterprise-wide data architectures, data management, data governance and data warehousing.
• Hands-on experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis, including translating business needs into enterprise architecture requirements.
• Strong familiarity with data management tools, including enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools, data mapping tools, and data profiling tools.
• Able to lead/drive teams to consensus decisions on complex business and technical data challenges
• Ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing dynamic environment
• Detail oriented with excellent follow through.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
