Director, Data Services and BI

Primary Job Responsibilities
This position will manage a team of resources responsible for all aspects of the data function, including:
•Data Architecture – Implementing an enhanced data architecture that meets the needs of all the functional areas, and maintaining /updating this architecture (including maintenance of the persistence layer – i.e., operational data store, reporting warehouses, metadata management, etc.) as needed.ý Implementation of the enhanced architecture will involve determining the effectiveness of existing technologies in relation to the new architecture design, creating a phased migration plan, and recommending which existing technologies need to be replaced or whether new technologies are required.
•Data Stewardship – Developing and implementing a clear framework of data governance/ýownership and data management policies. Develop data governance framework, clearly delineating data ownership and responsibilities of ERM and all other parties that ERM interacts with. As part of this, single source ownership of data across the organization should be identified in order to minimize duplicate activities and data reconciliation.
•Development / Integration Management - The production, identification, and extraction of data from source systems, the transformation and loading of data into databases, and the management and maintenance of tools used to perform these activities.A key objective will be to design and implement processes and technology to vastly improve the speed and efficiency by which data is secured and made usable.
•Data Operations/Maintenance - The continual process of monitoring and maintaining data quality including data validation, cleansing/ýscrubbing, etc.
•Data Delivery / Business Intelligence - All the activities involved in making data available to end users and ensuing that it meets their needs. This will involve understanding the reporting requirements of the Data Warehouse functional areas, and creating a central Business Intelligence function that satisfies those requirements in an efficient and user-friendly

Job Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is highly desired. Masters is preferred. Specialization/training in data management preferred.

10+ years of experience in enterprise data warehouse architecture principles, methods, techniques and technologies and three years experience with data information management-related components of large, complex data solutions.

Demonstrated ability to manage senior technology staff, define and execute deliverables on time and in budget.

Able to lead/drive teams to consensus decisions on complex business and technical data challenges

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to prioritize and multi-task across numerous work streams

Strong technical understanding of data modeling, design and architecture principles and techniques across master data, transaction data and derived/analytic data; strong technical expertise in data storage/management technologies for both OLTP and DW solutions

Deep knowledge of best practices through relevant experience across data-related disciplines and technologies, particularly for enterprise-wide data architectures, data management and data warehousing/BI

Ability to integrate/synthesize broad and diverse inputs and large amounts of information to formulate cohesive data architecture strategies/solutions

Ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing dynamic environment

Detail oriented with excellent follow through.

Excellent Experience in the conception, creation and manipulation of very large data warehouse and Data Marts

Excellent understanding of various relational database design concepts

Excellent knowledge of data modeling tools

Extensive experience in Data Modeling & Architecture

Familiarity with one of the leading market ETL tools

Excellent ANSI SQL skills and advanced knowledge of OLAP functions

Experience in online advertising desired

Basic Qualifications
