This is a unique position that will wield significant influence on the course of automation at ebay. The successful candidate will be passionate about driving excellence in ebay's user -level automation specifically striving for : 1) automation 'capability" with high relevance to user experience and site live traffic patterns 2) High re-usability and low maintenance costs 3) Leveragability at all points in the development life cycle 4) Robustness 5) Optimized bug yield 6) Automation suites that can be dynamically composed to meet a wide range of test regression requirements as those requirements emerge.

The engineer in this position will be a vital member of the automation team who will work extensively within the functional test groups to optimize how automation is developed, used and maintained. Engineer may be asked to deliver training on select automation topics to drive and encourage best practices. The engineer will use this experience "in the field" to drive improvements in the automation frameworks developed and maintained by the automation team.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will be very competent at conventional code coverage analysis using tools such as EMMA, as well as leveraging all sources of data in the quality ecosystem such as site traffic patterns, browser and OS demographics, defect and change trends in the ebay site code base, etc. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required (verbal and written)

Basic Qualifications

Prior experience in Data Mining and Data Analysis
Demonstrated ability to both establish and optimize software testing processes
Experience in creating user-level automation for product testing
Competence in Java

Education
Masters Degree or Equivalent
