Description:

Quality engineering position will contribute to the design and implementation of complex, multi-tier distributed software applications. The focus will be on supporting the QA effort for current and next-generation Attributes back-end and front-end solutions. Will work with the other QA engineers, development, DBA, and Operation teams to implement application features. Will work independently to test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex changes. The individual should have a good working knowledge of java. Knowledge of all aspects of testing required: white-box, gray-box, and black-box. A background in working with large datasets to drive appropriate L&P testing with the L&P team is desirable.
The duties will include developing test plans and test cases, accurate and timely test status reporting, and working with the QA team to ensure standard QA processes are followed including usage of Test Case management systems and various other tools such as Clearquest for bug management

Responsibilities include:
. Back-end/front-end testing as needed
. Creating test plans and test cases for new assigned features
. Executing planned testing tasks and providing timely and accurate analysis of findings
. Keeping management informed of progress
. Communicating effectively with developers, operations, release management, and QA peers
. Proactively solving problems
. Identifying project risks and making recommendations to minimize risk
. Escalating project issues appropriately
. Proposing and researching tools, scripts, and processes to improve functional testing
. Giving input into the performance and scalability of the programs under test
. Position will report to Manager, QA

Requirements:
. Strong experience with SQL language
. Project experience with IBM WebSphere or other J2EE application server.
. Proficiency in testing Web Applications with comprehensive knowledge of browsers and JavaScript required.
. 6 or more years experience in reviewing product requirements and design, creating test plans, and manually feature testing scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant applications in Windows.
• MS/BS/BA in CS or related field
• 8+ years experience in requirements and design review and testing of scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant applications in UNIX and NT environments.
• In-depth knowledge of QA testing techniques such as Black Box, White Box, and Risk-Based testing.
• Oracle RDBMS/PLSQL experience.
• Good Perl/shell scripting on Unix, specifically Solaris experience a plus
• Excellent working knowledge of java-based or C++-based developed software required, development experience preferred. Ability to design and implement complicated automated testing frameworks.
• Project experience with IBM WebSphere or other application servers a plus.
• Experience with XML/XSL and other open-source technologies will be desirable
