Primary Job Responsibilities
We are seeking an exceptional Experience and Interface Designer to join eBay's Rich Media team within the User Experience & Design Group (UED). The Rich Media team works with the user community and across all business units to design and develop world class global products. The team is empowered to drive product innovation and is looking for an indivdual who is excited about designing and developing next generation solutions.
The Candidate will collaborate with world class interaction designers and lead teams in establishing the design framework, setting the design direction for a project and writing product specifications (IA, work flow, functionality and layout, etc.) which engineering will leverage in the build process

Job Requirements
The Candidate should combine a superior background in User Experience Design with the capability to directly implement innovative design specifications using leading rich media programming languages, such as Action Script.

- User Experience Design and Interaction Degree - BA or equivalant.

- 6 years of commercial software product design and development for online and PC environments. Must have track record of launching robust products.

- Extensive experience (2 - 4 yrs) working with ActionScript / Flex and JavaScript.

- Experience with HTML, XML, CSS,

- Experience designing Flash applications that interface with a web backend through well-defined APIs.

- Understanding of object oriented programming concepts and design patterns.
- Solid graphic design and art direction background.

- Ability to prioritize work, and communicate effectively with members of the development team. The role will require significant interaction with engineers.


Basic Qualifications
- Experience in UI design and engineering of content-based applications such as rich media widgets, social networks, photo albums, email, chat, content management systems, etc.

- An insatiable curiosity for learning new technologies and pushing boundaries.

- A focus on building consumer centric products that reach millions of people.

- A strong personal interest in media authoring and communication.

- A sense of humor.
