Priary Job Responsibilities
Marketplaces Strategy works directly with senior executives in eBay’s largest BU to develop the strategic direction of the BU, provide thought leadership, and deliver analytic insight. As Director, you will provide intellectual leadership in the development of strategy, drive value-creating solutions for a broad range of clients across multiple projects, and build a high-performance team.
Team responsibilities include developing business strategy with senior executives, driving competitive intelligence for the organization, leading M&A opportunity assessment, and supporting communication needs internally and externally for senior executives.
This position will report to the Head of Marketplaces Strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lead development of the corporate vision and strategy.
Use superb analytics and business judgment to identify, prioritize, structure and solve complex business problems.
Drive to actionable insights and recommendations; communicate them to senior management.
Build and manage a team of motivated, team-oriented, top-caliber professionals.
Manage multiple strategy projects at a time in a fast-paced, intense, results-oriented environment.
Collaborate with eBay Corporate Strategy, Finance, and other Strategy teams throughout the company to maximize the value we add to the organization.

Job Requirements

This position requires 8 – 12 years related experience within a large growth company or consulting firm, including planning, managing and executing strategy projects. Strategy consulting or investment banking experience highly desired.

The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to present insights and actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner. Skill and confidence in dealing with people at all levels of the organization are essential.

Strong and consistent track record of academic and professional accomplishments.

Hands-on approach to work.

Ability to train other professionals, providing intellectual leadership on a wide variety of business and analytical topics.

The ideal candidate must also excel in all areas of strategy development, including project management, business analysis, problem solving, recommendation, consensus building, and people development

Basic Qualifications
Masters Degree or Equivalent
8 - 12 years experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, or large growth company

Education MBA or Equivalent
