Risk Analyst --Insurance

Primary Job Responsibilities
The Global Risk Analyst is an invaluable member of the Global Risk Management (GRM) team, providing structure, compliance and risk intelligence in order to ensure seamless operation of eBay’s global risk management function. This role will support the structure and management of an advanced risk management operation, with the opportunity to assume more responsibility over time with demonstration of high level time management, organizational, communication and risk management technical skills.


Claims Support-Administration for basic casualty, property, and cargo claims; bordereaux preparation for EPLI and E&O claims activity and assistance in educating our underwriters through focused meetings.

Insurance Renewal / Audit Support-data gathering, working with FP&A, Payroll, Site Operations, Global IT, HR, and Workplace Resources to provide complete, accurate, and up-to-date information for GRM and underwriters to understand eBay’s risk exposures.

Captive Ins Co admin-play role in the administration and co-management of eBay’s Captive Insurance Company (Marketplaces Insurance Inc.--MII) facilitating policy issuance and administration, financial administration (including the review of monthly financials), financial reporting, and claims management.

Worker’s Comp-be lead contact on eBay’s Worker’s Comp program—partner with broker, Sedgwick (TPA), payroll, Env Health & Safety and HR to administer eBay’s WC program through outside insurers and MII. Qrtrly monopolistic reporting and claims meetings must be coordinated in a timely fashion.

Intranet-maintenance of GRM’s iWeb intranet site—responsible for ensuring that the website is a valuable resource to the eBay community

RMIS Mgmt-lead administrator and implementation of RMIS system, assure insurance policy and claims-related documents are housed completely and promptly into the system, develop reports as requested to understand and analyze eBay’s corporate risks and build programs to mitigate/transfer those risks through various insurance mechanisms.

Contracts Review, Events Review, Certificates of Insurance-- administer the flow of requests to review corporate contracts and proposed employee events for Risk

Mgmt feedback-provide contract and events guidance where possible, assist in the development of the Global Contracts Playbook and Events guide.

M&A integration-support the Risk Manager and broker in the evaluation and prudent integration of the risk management programs and insurance policies of eBay’s acquired companies/assets.

Accruals/ Payments-provide accrual schedule to AP monthly in order to ensure appropriate bookings. Responsible for making sure that all local and international invoices and wire releases for MII are completed on time.

Systems Admin- Master user of eRoom, our claims document depository, and Serengeti, our legal invoicing system.

Job Requirements
Candidates should have strong organizational and project management skills, effective interpersonal/communication skills, and good analytical/problem solving capabilities. Excellent computer (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) skills are a must.

Candidates should have a desire to and aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment. Initiative and confidence is necessary to interact with multiple organizations across the globe. Self-motivated and focused on completing tasks and delivering results based on agreed-upon schedules. The flexibility and judgment to manage and prioritize multiple tasks is essential. A desire to learn and accept responsibility will be rewarded with new experiences and advanced assignments


Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance required.
